Fall Hair Color Trends: Softened Ombre, Deepen and Richen Hair Color

Last updated 9 months ago

Last year we saw the ombre hair trend take the fashionista world by storm! This was the super dark hair color coming from the roots, then transitioning into a much lighter color. Now we are seeing a softened version of the ombre, where the deepened base color begins at the top of the head, and subtler, often caramel and honey highlights are underneath and on the sides of the head.

Marco Pelusi, salon owner and hair stylist to the stars shares his tips for making the most of brunette color and for transitioning hair color from summer to fall in the video below. He says that for moving into fall, we want to deepen and richen our hair color. For redheads, going a couple shades deeper and more vibrant is best. If you’re a blonde, add lowlights with deeper caramels and butter blondes into your hair. For brunettes, add a glaze to enrich the faded ends from summer. Pelusi says “fall/winter is all about going into softer, deeper colors.”
